WCA Staff.

Abbey Clayton is our amazing Preschool teacher. She considers it a blessing to be part of these little peoples education and be a part of teaching them about the Lord.

Abbey loves using Abeka curriculum and being able to tie everyday learning back to the Lord. She loves teaching the Pre-K kiddos, as they are always so excited to enter into preschool, their excitement is contagious! It is so rewarding seeing their eyes light up when they figure out something for the first time.

When she is not am in the preschool room, she enjoys spending time with her family. She lives south of Winterset on a family farm. Abbey and her husband, Matt, are getting ready to celebrate 19 years of marriage! Together they have 2 boys, Hazin 18 and Hank 15. On their farm we raise Red Angus Cattle and Miniature Schnauzers. They love caring for their animals and land.

Mrs. Rachel Dakins is our incredible kindergarten instructor. Rachel is married to her husband Shane, and they have two sweet children that she adores (and so do we!), both being students at WCA. Mrs. Dakins loves spending time with her family and attending local events. She loves to be outdoors soaking up the sun any chance she can, while being active with her kids.

Rachel has a great deal of experience working with children of various backgrounds. She is also actively involved in youth ministry at her church, Four Square Church in Winterset.

Rachel notes, “Over the course of college and young adulthood, I learned that God gifted me with a passion for working with children. I so enjoy how excited kids are for life and for learning new things. One of the greatest joys is seeing kids grasp a concept for the first time and how their eyes light up with understanding. Reading is a favorite past time of mine and I feel honored to be able to teach the foundations of phonics and writing in hopes to inspire a love of reading in each student.”

Rachel brings us such a positive and upbeat attitude, while also balancing a sense of realism and sincerity. She is often the first one to offer up positive advice or a pertinent bible verse in times of joy, as well as times of trial. We absolutely love having Mrs. Dakins on our WCA team, and we thank the Lord for her so often.

Sherre is our second grade teacher and also spends an hour each day teaching 4th and 5th grade Language Arts.  She loves being able to teach her students about Jesus while also teaching academics at.WCA.

Sherre was a graphic artist for 10 years before beoming a stay-at-home mom.  She homeschooled her four boys for over 20 years.  .

She enjoys the outdoors and being active with her family including kayaking, camping, and downhill skiing.

Tucker Baker has devoted his life to serving Christ. He is humble and earnestly seeking the will of God. Tucker has had several years of experience working with youth teaching and discipling them through God’s word. Tucker is continuing his education in early childhood development. He has a passion to share the gospel and equip students academically to be successful in not only the workforce but in and through the everyday adversities’ students are sure to face.

When Tucker is not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors. He enjoys fishing and just being active with his family. We are excited to have Mr. Baker join us at Winterset Christian Academy.

Our School Board consists of various community members who are invested in Winterset’s youth and feel passionate about the strong foundation WCA can provide. We are grateful for the diverse experience and expertise of our school board members who help make Winterset Christian Academy a great place to learn and grow!
